Last Day of School

from Capital Punishment by Three Vultures

/

lyrics

Wake up in the morning, try to open my eyes
Get to the bus stop and ignore the bright sky
I get to my school, I go to my class
Teacher takes roll call and she calls my name last
One kid I don't know, starts to dig in his bag
My heart drops to the floor, when I see him pull out a .45 mag

Shots and screams fill the air
Tuck and roll under the chair
Tears and blood everywhere
I quietly say the Lords's Prayer

Danny's in the lunchroom, drawing on the table
He hears a big boom and he's simply not able
To move away, he sits and prays
"Please God, don't let this be my last day"

Lisa's in the hallway, skipping class
Might be her lucky day but she see's through the glass
Her friends gunned down in a quiet town
She drops to her knees and begins to plead
"Dear God, don't let this be their last day"

Will prayer save us?
Will it save us?
Will God save us?
Please God save us

Save us
